Vulnerability Assessment and Control Strategy Development
We provide on-site vulnerability assessment of potential macrofouling impacts on individual facilities.
RNT Consulting Inc. has been conducting such site assessments for more than twenty years, primarily for
clients facing potential infestation by zebra, quagga mussels or golden mussels. RNT has developed the
vulnerability assessment checklist at the request of the US Bureau of Reclamation (RNT 2009). This checklist
has been widely used by number of facilities in North America.
As part of our vulnerability assessment we advise our clients on available options for the control of
biofouling organisms. By examining the specific facility, its environment, and appropriate regulatory
regimes, we are able to suggest custom control strategies specific to the client's needs.
